How to Celebrate the Solar Eclipse in Myrtle Beach

August 18, 2017

Millions of visitors will flood to South Carolina to watch the solar eclipse from all around the nation. The path of totality will pass through Columbia, Greenville and Charleston where there will be one to two minutes of black out! When the eclipse comes, where will you be?

We will be hosting a Solar Eclipse Above the Pond party from 2 to 3 p.m. Space Junk snack pack will be provided!

Here are a few other local spots hosting eclipse events:

  1. Head Far South to Brookgreen Gardens, which is celebrating the Great American Eclipse by having a special ticketed event on Monday, August 21, from 11 am – 4 p.m. Featuring music by Oracle Blue, free eclipse glasses, live streaming of NASA’s coverage of the eclipse as it crosses the USA, and live streaming coverage of the aviary in the Lowcountry Zoo. This will be a once-in-a-lifetime day to remember! This event is advanced ticket purchase only.
  2. Myrtle Beach State Park Pier: Experience the first total solar eclipse visible from coast to coast since 1918! At 2:45pm, the sun will disappear! Drop by to discover how and why solar eclipses occur. Bring your own solar glasses or buy them from the pier!
  3. Black Hole Sun Party: The House of Blues of Myrtle Beach will be hosting a Celebration of the Total Solar Eclipse. The Party will take place on The Deck where Hornitos Black Barrel Tequila will be sponsoring the event. Come for lots of fun with your friends!
  4. Eclipse Beach Blast will be for ticket holders only at the Skywheel from 2 to 4 p.m. with food, drinks, viewing glasses, personalized souvenirs and more!
  5. Kaminski House Museum will be hosting a viewing on the lawn from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring your chairs and blankets for a special viewing with live entertainment by DJ Jeff Benton and streaming of the NASA coverage of the eclipse!

Local Dog-Friendly Activities

August 4, 2017

There are plenty of options for dog-lovers who want to chase after some fun. Here are a few ideas to show you the best spots for a doggone amazing time!

Make your walks a little more fun with some pet-friendly activities for some quality dog-time. Take a stroll over to our local dog friendly restaurants, or make your way to Myrtle Beach where dogs are allowed before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m. until Labor Day.

Take a fast 10-minute drive over to YMCA’s Dog Park, where you’ll find shade as your dog socializes in one of the yards specifically designed for small or large dogs. Checkout a list of dog parks with reviews to see what the locals recommend!

We love our four-legged friends! Bring your dog to the office for a treat, or take them to our bark park and let them run free! We provide a quarter-mile walking trail around the pond, perfect for a relaxing walk where your curious dog can sniff the turtles and ducks. Keep an eye out for our pet stations throughout the community – we want to keep everyone safe and clean!

We hope you found some inspiration for the next adventure! Have fun exploring all of the convenient opportunities to enjoy a nice day out with your pet!

Summer Date Night Ideas

July 21, 2017

It’s time to ditch your routine movie night and bring some adventure into your date nights with exciting specials happening around Seaside Grove this summer! July is full of fun events and deals, so take a look at some of our recommendations and treat your date to something new.

Try one of our local favorites, 21 Main at North Beach Plantation, for a romantic and unforgettable dining experience. Make reservations and arrive early as this restaurant’s reputation has made it one of the most popular spots in the area. Don’t worry, the elegant atmosphere and award-winning bites make it well worth the wait. We suggest ordering one of their best seasonal cocktails, the watermelon mojito along with a shared plate of the impressive Tomahawk Ribeye, which is 40 ounces of beef! Finish the spread with the Lobster Bacon Mac & Cheese, which won first place for last year’s Taste of the Town awards. Continue reading

Carolina Forest Farmers Market

May 17, 2017

One of our favorite things about this time of year is all the incredible produce that’s in season! The late spring and early summer months are prime time for enjoying some of nature’s most delicious morsels, like peaches, blueberries, and melons. After all, does anything really beat sitting by the Seaside Grove Apartments pool and enjoying some watermelon in the sunshine? We didn’t think so!

One of the best places to get these fresh fruits? At the nearby Carolina Forest Farmers Market, just 10 minutes from your apartment at Seaside Grove! It’s not just fresh fruits that you can buy, though; there are vegetables, fresh baked goods, flowers, just-caught seafood, homemade jellies and jams, and local artisan crafts. Continue reading

Seaside Grove Suggests: King Kong Sushi

May 5, 2017

What’s your favorite part about living in Myrtle Beach? We know it can be hard to pick, but the Seaside Grove team has to say that FOOD tops our list of reasons to love the coastal town! In this edition of Seaside Grove Suggests, we’re talking about King Kong Sushi, just ten minutes from your apartment at Seaside Grove.

With two locations, one at Broadway on the Beach and the other nearby in Carolina Forest, you can go to King Kong Sushi no matter where you are in the city. While the restaurant keeps serving sushi, hibachi, and lots of drinks late in the night, the Seaside Grove apartment family is particularly partial to the lunch specials!

Check the restaurant out midday and you’re sure to get a great deal with discounted roll prices.

Whether you’re new to Myrtle Beach or a native, don’t hesitate to ask our leasing staff at Seaside Grove Apartments for some other great area recommendations!
