Though the winter months here in Myrtle Beach can bring us temperatures ranging anywhere from the teens to the upper 70’s, many people see an increase in their electric bill due to fluctuating temps.
Seaside Grove apartments Maintenance Technician, Matthew Heffington, has a few quick tips to remember if you’re trying to reduce your electric bill this month.
- Change your air conditioning filter: Changing your filter once a month keeps your system working efficiently. Seaside Grove provides filters to residents at no charge. Matthew says a clean filter means lower bills. Check out our four-step photo instructions for easy changing!
- Keep your thermostat at a constant temperature: Matthew suggests setting your thermostat to 68 degrees. “If you need to raise the temperature, do it in one degree increments, slowly, until you reach your desired temperature.”
- Turn off the lights: The simplest way to keep your electric bill low is to turn off your lights when you leave the room, or leave your house. You’d be surprised what an impact on your bill this makes.
Keep these tips in mind and save money on your bill in the last few cold months.
